Is it true that if I can't afford to pay all the child support- I can get

government assistant to pay the rest I have four kids and I'm up to my neck with child support. I'm can't afford it...I heard from other fathers who pay child support that they pay some and the rest the government pays for it. Please give me serious answers.

Sorry, i have never heard of this. If you cannot make the payments or need them lowered because of a hardship, you can request a modification of the court order to lower your payments. Good Luck!

untrue. There is no provision to have the taxpayers support your children except for general welfare laws. When a child support enforcement agency collects support for a custodial parent who is recieving public welfare, they money is used to reimburse the state for the welfare. Either you misunderstood your friend, or he misunderstands his obligations. A parent's obligations take precedence over virtually everything, including the parent's own comfort, and if the only way to meet your obligation to support your children is to live in a box under the railroad bridge and eat what you can salvage out of dumpsters, then that is what the law requires of you.

I had the same issue. I was paying so much at one point I was getting my food from charities, churches and stale food from groceries stores.

I was in the Army at the time and because I had a child they did not let me live on post or get free meals.

Child support laws are over the top. The payments are way way to high in many states leaving one of the parents destitute.

Frankly, thanks to government intervention, marriage is the WORST financial decision a man could make. I would recommend against it.

I know this didn't help but I feel for ya.
