Why do presidential Candidates pay $200Million to get an 8 year job that...

...pays only $400K, it looks criminal??? It's like paying McDonalds $100,000 bucks to hire you to flip Burgers.

And the crazy part is much of America thinks this is a good thing.

The money doesn't actually come out of their pockets. Their political party and their supporters pay most of it.

the candidate does not actually have 200 million dollars before hand. He/She campaigns to raise these funds. So actually the 200 milion that you are talking about belongs to the people who support the candidate.
