You do not sound like you know what you're doing. Not everyone can play the stock market with success. Leave it to the professionals and invest in a good mutual fund.

if you have not already done so, go flat immediately [exit the markets completely for non-traders].

any time market actions result in non-behaviors on your part, you have too much at risk in the markets for your psychology to handle. the way you fix that is to go flat. NOW.

I know that American markets moved strongly upward Friday after Asian markets were closed. Will Asian markets follow upward on Monday?

maybe.

how far might they bounce?

how much more of your life and future are you willing to bet on that?

***
you do not re-enter the markets until you have your psychology under control and the amount of risk you are taking properly managed in relation to your other life and financial affairs.

if you do not know how to manage either your psychology or the risks, this is what you have to learn and work on before you re-enter the markets. ever.

***
should anyone suggest you can recover your position by doing XYZ; -- RUN.

they're obviously trying to take advantage of you for their own benefit. and there are lots of these sharks out there.

:-(

Who manages your brokerage account you or your broker? Brokers don't give a hoot about the small investor. If it's the later fire him/her and take your financial future into your own hands. Visit www.investools.com. Also...if you manage your own account who is your broker, do they allow you to do options? From where I sit the market right now is a bargain house and buying options on the future is the way I would go. I profited $30,000.00 in the last week doing options but like you lost a lot 2/3 of it, but that was 2/3 of a gain not total investments. Hey, it's only money. Go with options, that's my advice.
