When i see traders on the floor of the new york stock exchange yelling at

each other what are they doing? ok, i know that when the traders on the floor or pit of the new york stock exchange are buying and selling shares of stock bonds ETF's and other securities, so i guess my real question is who do the traders work for? who are they buying and selling those shares for?
