I'll give you one that I have recommended to all my clients in the past few weeks:
Quanta Services PWR They build and repair company infrastructures, city power lines and they are leading the way with wind and solar power technology (which will be the future of powering our planet). I recommended the stock last month at $24 and it hit $30 just Wednesday...a 25% gain already!! This company has great management, a profitable balance sheet and solid sales and growth numbers--everything you need for a winning stock. I expect this stock to hit $40 by this time next year. Jim Cramer has come out and recommended this stock as well 2 weeks ago. You can research his comments and other reasons to pick up this stock here on Yahoo. This stock is a winner in a difficult market. But now is the time to buy as the market has settled. Good luck and happy investing!

Step 1: Understand yourself. e.g. If you are in the age group between 20 to 30, your investment objective should be Maximum Gain (of course, you will face high risk); age between 30 to 50 should seeks for lower risk and 50 + should only purchase well known company stocks which offer consistent profitability and high dividend.
Step 2: Do your homework. Investing in the field that you understand and know the most. For example, if your occupation is computer programmer, should focus on tech sector Step 3: Research and Compare and select a good broker. http://www.fool.com/school/basics/basics... The link above should help you understand and select an ideal broker for you. Hope it helps and enjoy the excitement of be the "OWNER" of the company
