I am a small business owner and contributing toward 401(K) SELF EMPLOYMENT...

...RETIREMENT PLAN.? Do I have to pay social security on the amount I put towards 401 (K) or not.What amt I should consider in following scenario
Gross Wages-5000.00
401(K) cont.-1000.00
Should I consider $5000. or $4000.

you should get a tax prepparer and a financial advisor to do this properly
