How do I go about getting my name off mortgage, title for a house.. ?

I have been sharing a house with my former boyfriend for about 1 and a half almost two years, we got the house in both of our names (i know i know, stupid) but we just cant seem to resolve our differences and we are both miserable. He can have the house I cant afford it on my own anyway, I just want my name off everything, so when I can get on my own feet I dont have any debt. He says its easy all I have to do is sign the deed over and have it notarized?? .. I dont know what to do. I just want out.
