How long do you think the legal work on an English sale of a property should
take (selling not buying)? I got the offer on my flat in May,and they are still on with the legal work.Is this normal or acceptable?

It always takes longer than it ought to. I would start nagging your solicitor and your agent. It's possible the buyer is having problems financing and is deliberately slowing things down. Keep nagging, if there are no complications it should only take about 6 weeks so you are justified in trying to hurry things along now. Tell them you are thinking of putting the flat back on the market, that will normally get things moving.
