What are the best or proper steps to flipping a house after it has been purchased?

I'm interested in the process that deals with the remodel and hiring the different people or companies to get the job done. Also, what are the legal permits and so forth do I have to have in order to do the jobs and who is responsible for getting them? Is it me or is it the individuals who are doing the jobs? I would think it would be me but I'm not sure. I'm in Texas if that helps. I've never done this as I'm sure you can tell, but because of circumstances I have the opportunity to do so if I accept it. I need to support my family and because of an illness I was put in the position of not being able to do so. Now, if I can get some direction on the step 1-2-3 of flipping or remodeling for resale, my family and I would appreciate it. Please don't write me to discourage me in the flipping process. That is not what I'm asking for. I am asking for direction from others who have done so, such as, painting, flooring, kitchen and baths, etc. and what do I do 1st, 2nd & so forth.
