Hugs! Democrat or republican, do you agree we should have a federal bailout
plan for housing mortgages? http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/04/26/house.mortgage/
Bush administration opposes Democrats' mortgage relief bill Some congressional Republicans also oppose Frank's proposal, saying it essentially forces one neighbor to pay for the mistakes of another.

The government bailed out Bear Sterns, so why not help ordinary folks. Besides, this isn't really a bailout. Under this bill the government would insure the difference between the property value and the balance of a new mortgage at a fixed and lower interest rate.
Wouldn't letting people keep their houses and paying back the full balance over the next 30 years be better for our economy than kicking them out and letting the house sit empty with no money coming back to the banks?

I bought a house I knew I could afford come hell or high water. Screw all the idiots that tried to keep up with the Jones', if they bail them out, they best be paying off my house also.

Duh, let me see. Should I take free money and use it to pay my mortgage? Wow, that's a no-brainer. Sure, bring it on, give it to me!!!!!
The above is why the Democrats have so many people voting for their socialistic a**es. Why wouldn't people want to take a handout when the Democrats are going to take it from the top 5 percent and give it to those "hard-working" Americans in the "middle-class" that happens to outnumber the ones making it by 10-1. Duh...

Don't support a bailout. And I'm tired of hearing about 'predatory lenders.' Um, those lenders were just looking out for their bottom line. We should have been looking out for ours, too. Takes two to tango!

Absolutely NOT, no, never, uh-uh-uh!
You do realize that many of the people having trouble paying their mortgages are investors who bought up too many properties, then bailed out when they couldn't pay their balloon mortgages. So the line grows of people demanding breaks on financial obligations they can't afford. The Bush administration last week agreed to rescue 100,000 homeowners who are at risk of foreclosure on their mortgages. Congressional Democrats promptly announced that this wasn't fair enough, and that they intended to expand the bailout to as many as 2 million distressed borrowers. But why stop there? What about onerous commercial mortgages? And credit card debt? And student loans? Why should anyone have to pay back anything? It's not fair. Doesn't this sound like a whining child who wants to eat ice cream and watch TV until midnight. The parents start caving and family discipline is shot.

Yeah, I think we shouldn't be like the americans in the 1930's, foolishly helping one another through the great depression. We gotta be like modern people. Every person for themself. To hell with the rest. I got mine.
It's the new american way!
