Can I get a mortgage for the value of a house I am buying, and keep

extra money for renovation work? The house value is £90k and I have 10% deposit but I wanted to keep some money to renovate it. Could I ask for a 90k mortgage and still put in 10% so that I have money for the works?
I have already been offered a mortgage of up to £122k so I don't need to worry about actually getting the offer.

It would be a good idea to speak to a mortgage advisor and they can also get you good deals on mortgages easier than you might be able to. You can do a 5% deposit still (I have recently), but then you have to pay a higher lending charge, just speak to someone and see what they say.

You could, but doubtful in this day and age with the credit crunch...you could at one time borrow 100% and in some cases 110% but those days seem long gone now....just see what the min deposit is you can get....but I bet it will be at least 10%
